Hello, supporters of Lake View Elementary!
We are looking for financial help so we can install one additional water filtration system that will be located in our lower level hallway.
Regular water consumption has many health benefits:
- balanced electrolyte levels
- proper digestion
- helps avoid overeating and sugary drinks (linked to poor health outcomes, like obesity)
- replenishes fluids lost through exercise (important especially after our recess walking/running club, that is encouraging kids to be more active at recess)
Lake View currently has one bottle re-filling station, located in our upper hallway. This allows staff, students, and visitors who work and learn on the first floor (K-3 students, the teachers who support them, our gym and music teachers, our secretary and principal, and other student services staff) to stop using so much plastic and keep hydrated with good-tasting, filtered water throughout the day.
However, this water filtration system is not conveniently located for those who spend most of their day in the lower level of our school (our 4th/5th grade students, the staff who support them, our custodians, and the the art, library, and makerspace teachers). We want to make sure that all Lake View staff, students, and visitors can stay hydrated and primed to do their best learning at Lake View!
Please help us provide equitable access to water bottle re-filling filtration systems by contributing and/or sharing this donation campaign to your network of friends and family so we can have one on each floor of our school. Every little bit helps us get to our goal of $1600. Together, we are Lake View! Thanks in advance for your support!
